Meet The Boogaloo Bali
Convenience isn't just about fast delivery. It's about making the entire shopping experience feel effortless.
The Boogaloo Bali is a beverage retail and delivery business offering a curated selection of beers, wines, spirits, and mixers, alongside professional bar catering for villas, weddings, and private events.
Built around accessibility and convenience, the brand operates a 24/7 delivery service, giving customers flexibility in how and when they place their orders.
With an online storefront, WhatsApp ordering, and third-party delivery platforms, The Boogaloo Bali serves customers through multiple touchpoints.
For a business like this, digital commerce is more than displaying products. It's about making every interaction simple, accessible, and aligned with customer needs.
The Challenge: Making Convenience Part of the Customer Journey
When a business operates across different customer touchpoints, providing a clear and consistent shopping experience becomes increasingly important.
For The Boogaloo Bali's business model, three areas are particularly relevant:
-
- Seamless Product Discovery: Helping customers explore available products and find what they need without unnecessary steps.
- Customer Convenience: Keeping product information, ordering options, and delivery details easy to access.
- Flexible Shopping Experience: Accommodating customers who prefer ordering through the website or communicating directly with the business.
The opportunity lies in creating a digital experience that complements the way customers already shop.
Expatify's Approach: Shopify Development That Fits the Business
Every eCommerce business has different operational needs, and not every improvement requires rebuilding an entire storefront.
As a Shopify Partner in Indonesia, Expatify focuses on developing tailored commerce solutions that align with each brand's business model and customer journey.
For The Boogaloo Bali, Expatify was involved in a Shopify add-on development project, supporting the brand's existing eCommerce environment.
What We Built
For The Boogaloo Bali, Expatify developed two focused enhancements within the existing Shopify storefront: a nested product filtering system for the wine catalog, and a structured inquiry form for the brand’s bar services.
-
Nested Product Filtering: From Category to Grape Variety
The requirement: With a wine catalog covering red, white, rosé, dessert, fortified, and sparkling wines, customers needed a faster way to go from a broad category to the exact style they were looking for.Expatify developed a nested filtering system for The Boogaloo Bali’s wine catalog. Customers can now move from a broad category such as Red Wine, White Wine, or Champagne & Sparkling Wine straight to a specific grape variety, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Shiraz / Syrah, Malbec, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Prosecco.
Built on Shopify metaobjects and native storefront filtering, the grape varieties are available both in the main navigation and as quick-filter links on each collection page. They also work together with the existing Country filter and sorting options, so customers can narrow their search in just a few clicks.
The implementation:
-
-
Structured product data: Each wine is tagged with a grape variety stored as a Shopify metaobject. This creates one consistent data source for varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Shiraz / Syrah, Malbec, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Prosecco, and Champagne.
-
Nested navigation: The Wine & Champagne menu now has a second level. Customers can go straight from a category such as Red Wine to a specific grape variety, without opening the collection page first and filtering by hand.
-
Variety quick-filters on collection pages: A horizontal row of variety links sits under each wine collection heading, so customers can switch between varieties in one click.
-
Layered filters: Variety filtering works together with the existing Country filter and sorting options. Customers can narrow results to, for example, Pinot Noir from New Zealand.
-
Native Shopify filtering: Every filtered view uses Shopify’s native storefront filtering and has its own URL. The store team can link to it from menus, campaigns, or WhatsApp conversations.

Bar Services Inquiry Form: Capturing Event Details Upfront
The requirement: Bar catering and bartender hire quotes depend on many event details. A generic contact form tends to lead to long back-and-forth conversations before the team can give a quote. The implementation: Expatify built a custom inquiry form on the Bar Services page that collects everything the team needs to prepare a quote:
-
-
Contact & event details: name, email, phone number, event type, and event location.
-
Scheduling: a date picker plus start and end time dropdowns in 30-minute steps.
-
Event scale: number of guests.
-
Preferred Drinks (multi-select): Cocktails, Beer, Wine, Spirits & Mixers, Non-Alcoholic Beverages, Signature Cocktails, Welcome Drinks, Champagne / Sparkling Wine, and Not Sure Yet.
-
Bar Equipment Required (multi-select): Portable Bar, Glassware, Ice Boxes, Ice, Cocktail Equipment, Bar Tables, Bar Back, Garnish Station, and an “Other” field for custom requests.
-
Additional Information: a free-text field for special requests.
-
The form sits next to the service descriptions, rates, and FAQs. Customers can read about the service and submit a quote request on the same page.
The Outcome: Easier Discovery, Simpler BookingTogether, these enhancements make The Boogaloo Bali’s storefront easier to use at two important moments in the customer journey. Wine shoppers can quickly find bottles that match their taste by narrowing down by grape variety and country. Event clients can book bar services through a single, guided form instead of going back and forth with the team.
The result is a shopping and booking experience that is more convenient for customers, in line with The Boogaloo Bali’s commitment to making every interaction effortless.
-
The Business Perspective: Beyond a Single Sales Channel
The Boogaloo Bali's business model reflects an important reality of modern commerce: customers don't always follow the same path to purchase.
Some prefer exploring products through a website. Others choose direct communication or familiar third-party platforms.
For businesses serving customers across different channels, the value of a digital storefront lies in how effectively it supports product discovery, purchasing decisions, and the overall service experience.
Rather than treating the website as a standalone sales channel, businesses can approach it as part of a broader customer journey.
The goal isn't simply to be available online. It's to make buying easier.
